Problem / Need:
Project Managers often juggle multiple jobs and projects at the same time. Important tasks such as following up with customers, ordering materials, or contacting suppliers can easily be missed without a structured reminder system. Currently, Factory does not provide a job-specific reminder function, which can lead to delays, mistakes, and reduced customer satisfaction.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce a Job-Based Reminder System that allows users to set personal reminders on a per-job basis. These reminders would be flexible and integrated into the existing job workflow.
Key Features:
Personal Reminders Only: Reminders are visible only to the user who created them, preventing clutter for other team members.
One-Off and Recurring: Option to set both single-use and recurring reminders (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
Snooze Functionality: Ability to snooze a reminder for a chosen period if the task cannot be completed immediately.
Notifications:
In-app notifications on both web and mobile.
Optional email notifications (user can tick if they want email alerts).
Checklist Integration: Reminders can be linked directly to checklist items. Once the checklist item is completed, the reminder automatically clears.
Priority Levels: Users can set reminder priority (e.g., Normal, High, Urgent) to help manage workload.
Ease of Use: Simple interface to add/edit reminders quickly from within the job screen.
Reminder Dashboard: A central view (“My Reminders”) where a project manager can see all their reminders across all jobs. This helps in planning their day, week, month, or even months ahead.
Benefits:
Reduces the risk of missed tasks, improving project reliability.
Supports project managers who manage many jobs at once.
Keeps customers happier with more consistent follow-ups and timely communication.
Builds stronger company reputation for reliability.
Improves personal productivity by giving project managers a clear overview of all upcoming tasks in one place.
